Fertility Counseling
Fertility challenges often include, anxiety, depression, isolation and, at times, reproductive trauma. Unsuccessful cycles, early menopause or miscarriages can be heartbreaking.
Sharing your journey with a counselor is healing. Talking helps you feel validated and less isolated. Expressing your emotions and getting support for your grief gives you the clarity to make the best family-building decisions. Learning strategies such as cognitive restructuring and meditation helps you manage stress and restore balance. You deserve a compassionate journey guide with insights and resources to support your path to parenthood.
Lessen the burden of your fertility challenges.
Pregnancy & Postpartum
Women of every culture, race, age and income level can develop Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD). Symptoms can develop any time during pregnancy and the first 12 months after childbirth.
Up to 20% of all pregnant and postpartum women experience a PMAD during pregnancy, postpartum or post-loss. Up to 10% of new fathers become depressed in the first year after baby arrives. The “baby blues” is a normal adjustment period in the first two—three weeks after giving birth.
If you are pregnant or more than two weeks postpartum, and you are experiencing significant anxiety, sadness, difficulty bonding with your baby, depression, guilt or upsetting thoughts, you may be experiencing some form of a PMAD.
Dr. Jeanette can assist you in managing PMADs during pregnancy and postpartum, as well as the “baby blues.” Please reach out for help as you deserve all the support you can get during these major life transitions. You are not alone or at fault, and interventions work.
